Options Volatility Trading by Adam Warner
Adam Warner, who runs the excellent Daily Options Report blog, just released his debut book
Options Volatility Trading: Strategies for Profiting from Market Swings. It’s already ranking pretty high on Amazon’s business bestseller list, and I just ordered my copy.
In my mind, Adam runs the best options blog on the web. He has a knack for breaking down complex options concepts down into easy-to-understand goblets of information, and for providing value-added commentary on the real-time happenings of the options market. Adam was also one of the very early critics of Lenny Dykstra’s high-stakes deep-in-the-money call options strategy, performing a valuable public service by giving investors the truth about Lenny.
I’m really looking forward to delving into this book. My personal options trading strategy is pretty basic – mostly call and put spreads to make bullish or bearish bets on particular stocks or ETFs. Where I really need help is understanding the nature of volatility itself – what trends in the VIX mean for the broader market, how market volatility affects sentiment – stuff like that.
Given the outstanding content on Adam’s blog, I’m fairly certain that Options Volatility Trading will turn out to be an excellent book, and I can’t wait to get my copy. I’ll post a review as soon as I work my way through it!
