Thinkorswim Software Update – All Good Here!

by Michael Comeau on October 13, 2009

thinkorswim has updated its thinkDesktop software platform twice in the past couple of months, adding a ton of new features. Most of it’s stuff that I’ll never use, but there are some things that I really find helpful.

The first is the added icons next to ticker symbols that alert you to things like upcoming earnings reports and dividends. It’s stuff like this I really like – I doubt I’ll use multi-level OCO orders or the KlingerOscillator study any time soon. But I do like having reminders of things I shouldn’t be missing.

Here’s what it looks like:

I also like having live updates from The Fly On The Wall. Unfortunately, the Fly On The Wall items are integrated into the standard live news feed and can’t be filtered.  Maybe thinkorswim will add that feature in the future?

The Fly On The Wall normally costs $25 a month so it’s still a pretty sweet deal.
